The Reading List
The books I have read from 2017 to September 2026. Somewhere around 2017 I moved almost entirely to digital, so these came to me on a Kindle, from the county library through Libby, or on Spotify and Audible. I will admit to some cheating: a fair number were not read but listened to, and I count them anyway. The dates are when I finished each one, as best I can reconstruct.
Read timeline. Each placement uses the latest observed read-related library, borrowing, purchase, or acquisition record, rather than a claimed finish date. Books marked only “to read” are deliberately excluded.
Every book is a node; edges join each book to its nearest neighbours by meaning — cosine similarity of sentence embeddings of a short description (all-mpnet-base-v2, run locally), with a small bonus for the same author (dashed) or the same shelf. Mutual 4-nearest-neighbour graph, laid out by d3-force from a UMAP seed. Colour is the shelf; size is your rating; dashed frame = to read. Drag nodes, scroll to zoom, hover to see neighbours, click for details.
